ELLE Creative Director Joe Zee imagined a romantic narrative starring Rihanna as the fiery heroine in a passionate affair with a salsa dancer.

Elle shot the cover of their latest issue in the form of a mini movie (check it out after the jump) at Veluzat Motion Picture Ranch northwest of Los Angeles, starring Rihanna. It also serves a behind the scenes look at her photo spread. Check it out below along with the detailed explanation.

In the interview she says that she understands the backlash over her reconciliation with ex-boyfriend Chris Brown – but she’s not apologizing for it.

“The bottom line is that everyone thinks differently. It’s very hard for me to accept, but I get it,” she said in the interview. “People end up wasting their time on the blogs or whatever, ranting away, and that’s all right.
