J. Cole References Fight With Diddy On New Record

After getting teased for a while now, J. Cole finally released his album, The Off Season. His first since the release of KOD back in 2018. So you can only imagine that real Cole fans have been dying for a new album. I couldn’t keep my eyes open yesterday waiting for it to drop, so I had to enjoy it this morning on my way to work.
There is a lot to say of the album, like hearing Camron randomly on there. But the thing that caught my attention the most is when Cole referenced his fight with Diddy on ‘let.go.my.hand’. Mind you this alleged fight happened way back in 2013 at an after party for MTV VMA. There were rumors circulating about the whole thing, but they were denied by both Puff and Cole.
Back then it was crazy to even imagine J. Cole fighting and fighting Diddy at that. But there were too much noise about this going around for it to be totally untrue. But today we got a confirmation from Cole himself.
On the track Cole raps “But sometimes a nigga pulled my card, tryna expose me for a fraud/And with my reputation at stake, I was scufflin’ just to save face. Couple wins, couple losses/Some broken up too quick to call it/My last scrap was with Puff Daddy, who would’ve thought it?/I bought that nigga album in seventh grade and played it so much/You would’ve thought my favorite rapper was Puff/Back then I ain’t know shit, now I know too much.”
So it appears that the rumors were true after all. One thing we need to find out now is what the reason was.
But all is cool between the two in 2021 as Diddy appears on the outro of ‘let.go.my.hand.’
French Montana – Diamonds (Ft. Rick Ross x J.Cole) (Video)
The whole set is on that red cup movement in the new video for French Montana’s “Diamonds” and they’re all throwing their diamonds up. The video features Rick Ross and J. Cole and is off Mac & Cheese 3. French Montana’s “Ocho Cinco” released earlier today is off the same mixtape. Video, directed by Edgar Esteves.
Tyrese Sends Out Warning To J. Cole
So Tyrese decided to jump in the between the J. Cole/ Diggy thing we all thought was over. Until J. Cole threw shots at Diggy while performing at a TDE concert that is.
I still don’t get why people think they should react on behalf of someone else. Even Rev is not wasting his time on this, but then again everyone is entitled to their opinion. But why the hell should you add “I’m grown.” What does that have to do with anything??
First of all you jump in something that doesn’t concern you, kinda threat another boy who’s years younger than you are. And then you add “I’m grown.” That sounds so stupid, so Tyrese, please sit yo ass down.
Video: J. Cole Freestyle In North Carolina (Shots Thrown At Diggy?)
Kendrick Lamar brought J. Cole out during TDE and BET’s Music Matters Tour stop in North Carolina, Jermaine’s hometown. The crowd was all excited when he started performing “Nobody’s Perfect.” After that he went a capella and entertained the crowd with new verse.
“Woke up this morning to rumors of N***as wilin’
Picture me hatin on a young nigga with talent
Album flopped, but it’s cool he caked out on his allowance
I was out in Vegas, kicks was the latest
B**** was the baddest, her head was the greatest
Only one thing that I ask all you haters..
You can’t diss a nigga if you got him on your playlist……. Life’s a B**** just don’t come in the sheets.”
Remember Diggy dissed J. Cole a while ago? Cole said that he wouldn’t respond to Diggy with a diss track, so it was all good after that, even though Cole was lost after that. Maybe I’m looking to deep in this, but was he talking about Diggy in this verse?? You be the judge, watch the video below.
